Sasan Power Limited (Reliance)

- Reliance Power Ltd is executing 3960 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) through its 100% wholly owned subsidiary Sasan Power Ltd (SPL) at Sasan village, District Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh.
- Sasan UMPP has been allotted 3 captive coal mines - namely Moher, Moher - Amlohri extension and Chhattrasal. These are the largest mines in the country in terms of volume handled. Sasan UMPP is the biggest integrated coal mine cum power project in India.
- Sasan UMPP is a project of national importance and would benefit 35 crore people in 7 states of India. State of Madhya Pradesh is the largest beneficiary with 1,500 MW (37.5% of total capacity) allocated to the state.
Moher & Moher Amlohri Extension Coal Block (Reliance)

Moher and Moher-Amlohri Extension coal blocks under the command area of Northern Coalfields Ltd have been allocated to Sasan Power Ltd by Ministry of Coal The coal produced from the above mines would be exclusively used for power generation by Sasan Power Limited (6X660 MW) as well as another Power Plants belonging to Reliance Power Limited. Target Capacity of Mine : 20.OO Mtpa, Life of the Mine: 29 Years
Chatrasal Coal Block (Reliance)

Chhattrasal coal block has been allocated to Sasan Power Ltd by Ministry of Coal. The coal produced from the above mines would be exclusively used for power generation by Sasan Power Limited (6X660 MW) as well as another Power Plants belonging to Reliance Power Limited. Capacity of the project is 5 MTPA and life of the Project is 21 Years. Total minable reserve is 94.80 Million Tones.
Chitrangi Power Project

A Memorandum of Understanding (M0U) was signed with the Government of Madhya Pradesh (G0MP) on 20th September 2007 to set up the 3960 MW thermal power plant at Chitrangi in Singrauli District. Reliance Power is executing the Chitrangi Project on a fast track mode. It has already committed an investment of nearly Rs 40 Cr for the project.
Mahan Super Thermal Power Project

ESSAR POWER M.P. LTD. (EPMPL) a part of ESSAR POWER is setting up Rs 4860 Crore ,1200 MW (2x 600 MW) pithead Coal based Thermal Power Plant at 4 Villages namely Karsualal, Bandhora, Khairahi & Nagwa in Singrauli Tehsil of Singrauli Distt. in Madhya Pradesh in first phase. All statutory permits & clearances have been received for the project and construction activities are progressing.
Mahan Coal Limited
Company : Joint Venture of Essar & Hindalco
Mahan Coal Limited (“MCL”), a joint venture company between Hindalco lndustries Limited (“HIL”) and Essar Power M.P Limited (“EPMPL”), has been granted a captive coal block (“Mahan Coal Block”) in Singaruli District of Madhya Pradesh, which will mine coal for the two ventured companies. The total coal reserves are about 144 Million Tonnes with the grade of coal as E to F. The Mahan Coal Block isto produce 8.5 Million Tonnes of coal per annum by open cast mining system
Mahan Aluminium & Captive Power Project

Hindalco is putting up a Greenfield smelter having capacity of 3.25 lakh tones per anum along with 750 (5x150 operating) MW power plant In Village Bargawan, Deosar Tahsil of Singrauli District. The coal requirements will be met from Mahan Coal fields, a joint venture with Essar, situated at a distance of 25 kilometers. The water requirements will be met from Gopad River through a pipe line, situated at a distance of 35 kilometers.
Jaypee Nigrie Thermal Power Project

The 1320 MW Nigrie Thermal project in the Singraull district in the State of Madhya Pradesh is expected to comprise two 660 MW units, each deploying supercritical technology and is expected to be commissioned in 2012. The Nigrie Thermal project is expected to utilize coal from two coal blocks, the Amelia (North) coal block and the Dongri Tal II coal block.
M. P. Jaypee Minerals Limited

Jaypee Group has formed a Joint Venture company with Madhya Pradesh State Mining Corporation Limited (MPSMCL) to undertake coal production and sale of coal from coal block/blocks which might be allotted to MPSMCL. The company is called Madhya Pradesh Jaypee Minerals Limited. The joint venture company , is expected to mine coal from Amelia (North) and Dongri Tal II coal blocks which will be utilised for Jaypee Nigrie Thermal Power Project.
M.P. Sainik Coal Mines Limited (Amelia Coal Block)

Amelia Coal Block will be developed with a projected investment of Rs. 1200 Crore and production is estimated at 8.4 MTPA. The coal produced from Amelia Coal Block will be gainfully utilized by the State Govt. as follows:
- Major Portion of coal production is linked toThermal Power Stations of M.P. PowerGeneration Corporation Limited (MPPGCL)
- Basket Mine for nereby Thermal Power Stations to meet their coal Sortages.
- To Bridge the gap between Demand & Supply of Coal to other costumer like Cement, Steel, Power etc.
NTPC Vindhyachal Stage-4

NTPC Vindhyachal is the largest thermal power station of the NTPC and Nation. It is serving the country with the installed capacity of 3260 MW. This glorious power station is situated in the Singrauli District. The coal linkage for this station is from the Nigahi Coal Mines of NCL.
NTPC VINDHYACHALw1II retain its largest status with further capacity addition of 1000 MW (2 XSOOMW) in Stage-4. The construction is in its full swing and units are expected to be commissioned in 11th Five Year Plan.
For expansion about 500 Acres of land is being acquired at Baliyari Village for Ash Dyke.
DB Power (M.P.) Limited
Company : Dainik Bhaskar Group
DB Power Ltd. an unlisted company belonging to media house Dainik Bhaskar Group, plans to set up three thermal power plants in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. DB Power has already been allotted coal mines in Chhattisgarh having 100 million tons reserves.
The unit in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh will have a total generation capacity of up to 2690 MW.
