Singrauli is the 50th district of Madhya Pradesh State of Union
Republic India. It was granted district status on 24th May 2008, with its headquarter
at Waidhan
Singrauli district has emerged as an ideal destination for setting up of thermal
power units due to availability of coal and water in the vicinity.
As many as 8 projects promoted by industrial houses like Relianace, Essar, Hindlaco,
JP etc. are being setup in the district, with an aim to wipe out the shortage of
power.
District administration is entrusted with the onerous task of land acquisition for
all these projects. District Administration’s priorities include acquisition of
land in a speedy yet humane and justified manner.
These considerations have prompted us to use IT in a big way, for computerizing
the entire gamut of activities related to land acquisition.
In the first phase a software was developed to enter the data captured from land
records and field surveys and calculate the compensation payable to Project Affected
Persons (PAP) and also generates a unique ID No for each PAP and print photo identity
card for them.
In the second phase we developed this website SINGRAULIDIST.ORG with an aim to bring
transparency to the whole process of Land Acquisition, as well as subsequent Rehabilitation
& Resettlement Activities. |
